1. I switched host families last week. I won't go into details why, but now I'm with a great family who lives in the old city. My host mom's name is Isabel and I have a host dad and 2 host brothers...and a host sister who lives with her family (she has 3 daughters.) They own a restaurant in the old city so we go there to eat lunch every day and it's SO good. Their apartment is really nice and it's in a great location right by Plaza de las Flores and La Catedral and the beach (too bad it's almost diciembre..) Downside...I can walk to Pastelerías and I'm definitely "engordando" but it's so worth it. I watched the FC Barcelona - Real Madrid game yesterday with my host brother Moi and it was good...we were cheering for Barcelona, his second favorite team to Cádiz CF and it was funny - he reminds me a lot like Gabe watching the Ravens. We won 1-0. ALSO, I have a German sister!! She's another exchange student with my program InterHispania and I love her. Her name is Dominique and she's my age. We only speak in Spanish together and it's funny to see people's faces in the streets listening to us speak...we probably sound crazy. I love it. We don't exactly share a room, but I have to walk through her room to get to mine. I'm in her room right now using internet - the connection here is stronger. She's here for 9 months...so 6 more months I guess.
2. I just got back from Málaga yesterday! I went for the weekend with 4 girl friends. It was a lot of fun...we stayed in a hostel and we met some cool people. It's a really pretty city...I didn't take a lot of pictures but I have some on Facebook.
3. I'm going to send a package and letters/postcards now at Correos finally!
4. I'm also gonna look at the times for Luna Nueva in the movie theater....it's like 5 minutes away from our apartment and I'll probably go sometime after school this week to see it with Dominique.
5. I leave a week from tomorrow and it feels SO weird. I'm so happy now between my school and my host family and now I'm still excited to go to Botswana and see my family but now I'm just starting to feel the language click and I'm really starting to have a good time. I am SO EXCITED to see my family though and Tripp of course. It'll be great...only 9 days til I see them. I'm NOT looking forward to December 8th though...saying by to my exchange friends who have become really good friends and the flights themselves (plural...4 flights) are not going to be muy divertido...I fly from Jerez to Madrid to London to Johannesburg to Gaborone...I have to switch my luggage at London and Johannesburg I believe. I'll get to my family about 24 hours after I leave Jerez at 1pm. Very excited for that reunion!
6. A lot more little things have happened...can't really remember. Time is flying by.
I'm gonna go send my stuff at Correos.
